In 2018, around 250,000 hospital bed days in England were taken up by people who were medically fit enough to be discharged, but who had nowhere suitable to go for their continued recovery. This includes a significant number who could have returned home, if there was reasonable wheelchair access 

The Problem: Up until now the method of arranging suitable wheelchair access to private homes for individual patients included a lengthy process of site appraisal visit, quotation, review, acceptance and finally scheduling a ramp installation. This can literally take months, and meanwhile, the patient is still in a hospital bed. 

The Solution – The HomeNOW programme: When a patient is almost ready to be discharged home, the hospital can contact us, and we take care of the rest. Our technicians will quickly visit the outside of the property, survey for wheelchair access, and if needed install a suitable semi-permanent ramp – ALL ON THE SAME VISIT. The patient is immediately able to return home safely.
